Life

A month in review // April.

For a long time, I’ve been wanting to start a monthly feature where I could journal exclusively about my life happenings and lessons learned of the month. There is so much going on in our lives as we are rushing with the everyday tasks, that we forget to slow down and embrace the little things life gifts us.

‘Month in review’ is not a new concept, and as I saw a lot of bloggers practicing it, I  was inspired to start my own series. This will be my place to log the things I want to remember and share them with you.

So let’s dive in and I hope you’ll enjoy it as well!

MOMENTS + Happenings

1 | Lazy early Saturday mornings when Daniel join us in our bed to cuddle and sleep a little longer are the best!

2 | Little happy early morning moments happen in the weekdays too, like hugging Daniel and holding him for a few moments before I leave to start the day.

3 | We got a new TV, 65” TV! It is so big!! Watching the new season of Game of Thrones on it is awesome!

4 | Daniel loves other kids company and it’s so much fun watching him interact with them. Babies, on the other hand, are not his thing…

5 | There are rumors about having our apartment ready sooner than expected, It’s a big maybe, but I already found myself planning my dream kitchen using a cool site I found – HomeByMe for those of you who are curious or preparing for a big move too:)

6 | We went for a trip to the Zoo with my friend and her son.  I was so excited for Daniel to see a live elephant, but he fell asleep right before we got to that part. We had a good time there, but I found myself in an inner conflict. On the one hand, seeing animals in person is the best way to teach children about them, but on the other hand, those animals belong in the wild. Even though they weren’t locked in a cage and had a big living area and seem to be well fed and taken care of, I felt bad for them. Anyway, it was nice, but I don’t think I’ll be going to the Zoo again anytime soon.

7 | Alex bought Daniel a bicycle, and we take it anywhere. He loves it so much! He actually prefers to ride it versus any game in the playground, more than a swing, more than a slid.

LESSONS + REALIZATIONS

1 | A hour of running \ walking feels much satisfying than another hour of sleep.
The morning I wake up with no energy to lift, instead of canceling my workout altogether, change it. Make it to the gym and get on the treadmill.

2 | Trust your instincts.
When you feel someone’s companionship is not right for you, remember you don’t have to be their friends and that’s ok.

3 | Unlike this year, I don’t remember having rains in April, ever. The effects of global warming on climate change is really alarming.

4 | Being a mom means sometimes being super patient.

5 | I realize again and again how much physical clutter influences my mood in a bad way. I have to  KonMari the hell out of our home and create a cleaning schedule that will help us maintain a tidy home, and I have to do it soon.
